Blink 182 releases “One More Time” and “More Than You Know”

In the previous year, the iconic Blink-182 lineup reunited. Tom DeLonge, a co-leader who had parted ways with the band in a tumultuous split back in 2015, made his return. Blink-182 made headlines by announcing an extensive global arena tour, with Turnstile slated to open the entire American leg of the tour. As a precursor to their live performances, Blink also released a fresh single titled "Edging" and marked their reunion with a debut performance at Coachella. Since then, they've been charging ahead at full throttle. Now, Blink-182 has unveiled exciting news of an upcoming album named "One More Time…" and they've already released two singles from it.

Blink-182 embarked on the recording journey of "One More Time…" while in the midst of their highly-anticipated reunion tour, and they took on the role of producers themselves. This album serves as Blink's successor to 2019's "Nine" and marks their first full-length release with the classic lineup since 2011's "Neighborhoods." The album includes the previously released single "Edging," as well as two brand-new singles: the title track and "More Than You Know."

The poignant "One More Time," which should not be confused with Daft Punk's hit song, explicitly delves into the band's entire history, touching on Mark Hoppus' battle with cancer and the near-fatal plane crash involving Travis Barker. Over a backdrop of pianos and acoustic guitars, Tom DeLonge sings, "Strangers, from strangers into brothers / From brothers into strangers once again / We saw the whole world, but I couldn't see the meaning / I couldn't even recognize my friends." Mark Hoppus responds with, "I wish they told us, it shouldn't take a sickness / Or airplanes falling out of the sky." The song's video, directed by Carlos López Estrada, adopts a no-frills approach and leaves behind the band's signature humor.

On the other hand, "More Than You Know" is a faster and more energetically charged track, still delivering a heartfelt message devoid of any humorous innuendos. In short, both songs stay true to Blink-182's signature style while exploring deeper emotional themes. Below, you can listen to "One More Time," "More Than You Know," and also find the tracklist for the new album.
