X Ambassadors take over San Francisco
No Vacation graced a cool and dry day at San Francisco’s The Fillmore for a sold-out show. This marked the third stop on their spring tour, with Luna Li providing support in the U.S.
Luna Li kicked off the evening with her signature dreamy guitar riffs and sweet melodies. Currently working on a new album, she treated the audience to a sneak peek, incorporating the flute—a recent addition to her repertoire since January.
No Vacation took the stage, starting with "Sad Valentine," which they ended up playing twice at the fans' insistence due to a drummer's pedal mishap. Much like Luna Li’s multi-instrumental performance, Alex and Nat showcased their talents on keyboards, cello, violin, synthesizer, and guitar. The set featured a balanced mix of instrumentals and lyrics, exuding a dreamy, summer, distorted '90s-meets-modern vibe.
The band encountered a few hiccups during the performance, with guitarist Harrison stepping in and requesting patience from the audience as they navigated the challenges of the second night of their tour. Despite these moments, the crowd showed unwavering support, cheering the band on with encouragement and adoration.
No Vacation and Luna Li proved to be a perfect match for the night, their soothing yet upbeat genres complementing each other seamlessly. Despite the minor snags, fans eagerly anticipate their next return to town. It was a fun night and we can’t wait until they come back to Northern California again.
