Jessie Reyez and Miguel “Jeans” Review

This morning brings a surge of provocative pop tunes. Following the releases of new singles by Doechii and Tinashe, Jessie Reyez joins forces with the resurgent Miguel for their latest track, "Jeans." The lyrics go as follows: "You slip on me like a well-fitted pair of jeans, darling. You satisfy me more than a sumptuous feast, darling."

Toronto's talented singer and songwriter, Jessie Reyez, treated fans to her album "Yessie" last year, and she's currently engaged as the opening act for Sam Smith on their ongoing tour. Meanwhile, Miguel is experiencing a resurgence on TikTok with his 2010 track "Sure Thing," which has become his biggest hit to date. Just recently, he dropped the visually captivating collaboration "Number 9" with Lil Yachty.

Their collaborative track "Jeans" showcases Jessie Reyez and Miguel's remarkable chemistry as they exchange alluring verses against the backdrop of acoustic guitars. In the song, Reyez playfully likens Miguel's facial expression to a comfortable seat, while Miguel reciprocates by describing how the connection between them has dissolved into oneness. The track's lyrics seem to hint at a metaphoric chemistry that extends beyond the romantic connotations. The accompanying cinematic music video further enhances the experience.

I would give this 3 out of 4 stars.
