Alejandro Fernandez and Grupo Firme collaborate for “Felicidades”

It all began in Las Vegas with a tequila and a shared aspiration to sing together. Now, the collaboration between Alejandro Fernández and Grupo Firme has become a reality with the release of their song "Congratulations." In the accompanying video, they bring the journey full circle with another tequila. Within just one day of its YouTube premiere, the video has amassed nearly a million views.

The fusion of talents within the Mexican regional music scene continues to captivate audiences. In this instance, the "Potrillo" deviated from his mariachi roots to embrace the musical style of Eduin Caz and Firme. The song, now accessible across digital platforms, is a poignant ballad infused with band elements, prominently showcasing the distinct voices of Fernández and Caz.

The convergence of the revolutionary Mexican regional group and the iconic ranchera music star occurred due to the remarkable chemistry between Alejandro Fernández and Grupo Firme.

"We met in person on September 15 in Las Vegas, a year ago; we were there, shared a tequila, and the idea of collaborating came up," revealed Isael Gutiérrez, Firme's manager, in a phone interview.

This encounter led to a fusion that brings together two regional music luminaries. The song "Congratulations," penned by Iván Gámez and Luis Mexia—also the writer of "Calidad"—is anticipated to generate considerable buzz. Notably, it showcases Alejandro in a musical direction distinct from his usual style.

The song's production is credited to Music Vip Entertainment, and the video, where Firme and El Potrillo enjoy a meal together, was filmed in Guadalajara, Jalisco, at a property owned by the Fernández family, adding an extra layer of significance.

"This partnership adds a positive influence to the thriving phase that the Mexican regional genre is currently enjoying," conveyed a statement from the group.

Grupo Firme, scheduled to perform in Monterrey this Saturday and Sunday, is set to embark on its Central and South American tour titled "Hay Qué Conectarle Tour" starting in July.
