Keegan Murray makes the 2023 USA Basketball Select Team

Keegan Murray, the forward for the Sacramento Kings, has received exciting news as USA Basketball officially announced his selection to join the 2023 USA Men's Select Team. This esteemed group will undergo training alongside the USA Basketball Men's National Team in Las Vegas, Nevada, from August 3rd to 6th, in preparation for the highly anticipated 2023 FIBA Men's World Cup.

Throughout the 2022-23 NBA season, Murray's outstanding talent and skills were recognized with a well-deserved place in the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Demonstrating his prowess on the court, he delivered impressive performances, averaging 12.2 points per game with a shooting percentage of 45.3% from the field, and an impressive 41.1% from beyond the arc. Alongside his scoring ability, Murray contributed significantly with 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, appearing in a total of 80 games, 78 of which he started for the Sacramento Kings. Even during the intense 2023 NBA Playoffs, Murray continued to make his presence felt, playing in all seven games, starting in each one, and maintaining solid averages of 9.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Notably, in his debut season, Murray achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the NBA's All-Time Rookie 3-Point Leader, sinking an impressive 206 three-pointers. His rookie campaign also saw him ranked sixth in scoring, eighth in field goal percentage, second in three-point field goal percentage, and tied for fourth in total steals (61) among all rookie players in the league.

As a recognition of his outstanding performance, Murray was honored with consecutive Rookie of the Month awards in December and January. Additionally, he was selected to participate in the 2023 Jordan NBA Rising Stars game, representing Team Pau during the All-Star Weekend.

Murray will be joined by other talented players on the 2023 USA Basketball Select Team, including Cade Cunningham (Detroit Pistons), Jalen Duren (Detroit Pistons), Langston Galloway, Jalen Green (Houston Rockets), Quentin Grimes (New York Knicks), Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), John Jenkins (G League Ignite), Herb Jones (New Orleans Pelicans), Eric Mika (G League Ignite), Trey Murphy (New Orleans Pelicans), Payton Pritchard (Boston Celtics), Naz Reid (Minnesota Timberwolves), and Jalen Williams (Oklahoma City Thunder).
