Drake Acquires Tupac Shakur's Ring for $1 Million at Sotheby's Auction

Drake has emerged as the purchaser of the illustrious crown ring adorned with gold, rubies, and diamonds, which was famously worn by Tupac Shakur during his final public appearance. Confirming the acquisition, a press release reveals that Drake secured the prized artifact for a substantial sum of $1,016,000 through a Sotheby's auction. The ring, a creation of the late Shakur himself, graced his finger at the MTV Video Music Awards in early September 1996. For an up-close view of this remarkable piece, it is showcased on Sotheby's platform.

Initially projected to command at least $200,000, Shakur's ring exceeded expectations in the auction. The event marked Sotheby's third installment dedicated to curating items from the realm of hip-hop, coinciding with the genre's 50th anniversary celebrations.

During his "It's All a Blur Tour" alongside 21 Savage, Drake made a significant acquisition. Amidst this, he has been building anticipation for his upcoming album titled "All the Dogs," although no specific release date has been revealed. In recent months, Drake's creative output has included the publication of a poetry book and the unveiling of a fresh track titled "Search & Rescue." Notably, he has also made appearances in new works by J Hus and Young Thug, and even participated in a freestyle session with Central Cee on On the Radar Radio.

Travis Scott enlisted Drake for a guest feature on "Meltdown," a track from the album "Utopia." In this song, Drake seemingly takes a jab at Pharrell Williams with the lines: "Since V not around, the members done hung up the Louis/They not even wearing that shit/Don't come to the boy 'bout repairing some shit." This verse appears to allude to Pharrell's assumption of creative directorship for Louis Vuitton menswear following Virgil Abloh's passing in 2021. In another intriguing twist, Drake continues his ongoing feud with Pusha T through a separate bar, hinting that he might have confronted both Pharrell Williams and Pusha T at a fashion show in Paris if he wasn't entangled in a lawsuit with Vogue over a promotional campaign for "Her Loss." Worth noting is Pharrell's co-writing credit on "Looove," a track from "Utopia," where he collaborates with Scott and Kid Cudi.
